I appreciated the communication and the fact that the service fee was refunded without complications. That said, I believe the platform could improve its response protocols in emergency situations — especially when a property lacks essentials like heating, warm water, or reliable electricity. In my case, these issues severely impacted my health and ability to work, yet there was little recourse beyond a partial rent refund. I’d encourage Flatio to strengthen its safeguards: – More proactive intervention when a host clearly fails to meet basic habitability standards – Better support for tenants in securing compensation for time spent under unacceptable living conditions – And perhaps clearer vetting of properties during winter months where heating, power, and humidity are critical Overall, I’m thankful for the support I received. But stronger tenant protections — and greater enforcement power with non-compliant hosts — would go a long way in making the platform feel even more trustworthy.

The site is very convenient and easy to use; however, the 30 day cancellation policy is rather inconvenient for late bookings. I accidentally booked the wrong accommodation and was unable to get a full refund because the booking was only 2 weeks out. It would be nice if there was also a 24-48 hour window to cancel your reservation without penalty.

The fact that you do not ask for deposits for stays of less than six months is really hurting our business in Spain and we are not getting more tenants from Flatio. Please change that back and adapt to local laws. It would be wonderful. Thanks!

El sistema es muy práctico y fácil de usar, pero no ayudan tampoco a solucionar problemas con los propietarios. Ellos tienen total control. Y la situación con roomies irrespetuosos, suicios y que hasta representan un riesgo de seguridad no es un criterio de Flatio para cancelar o finalizar un contrato.

Fast and helpful CS-team, but too complicated booking procedure compared to other booking services.

I did not like that the Flatio fee was not refundable and could only be applied to a new reservation. I felt it was misleading.

The communication with the flatio was clear, and the process of finding the apartment was easy. However, I didn’t like that every time I paid the rent, an extra commission was charged. I had already paid €170 to flatio before renting the house, so I think this additional fee should not have been applied.

I think you need to check out your hosts and the flats they are renting in person. The flat I rented should not even be advertised as its not fit to stay in. I also don't think you should release rent to hosts until it's confirmed the guest is happy staying there. I think your staff are supportive and helpful and its an easy to use platform, but more things need to be put in place such as flat inspections and rent refunds where guests have left but still being forced to pay the rent.

I was very disappointed with your services. I paid 500 euros of fee for the agency, you were not able once to help me. NEVER. This is the first and last time I will book anything wirh you and I will make sure nobody else I know does.

Flatio wirbt damit eine Plattform für digitale Nomaden zu sein. Es kann nicht sein, dass dann eine Wohnung vermietet wird, die kein oder nur schwaches Internet hat (obwohl es explizit in der Anzeige angegeben wird.)

Support took extremely long time and way too many communications to make them take action

Flatio had little influence when the host changed the picture of the apartment I booked after I checked in. No compensation was offered neither from Flatio nor from the host. Not a pleasant experience.

A lot of hosts cancel last minute.

Short term payment and last minute payment still not solved, no real safety from scammers. That's not a company strategy to tell hosts, that they can turn down a reservation request. The system should not have these potholes in it.
