I'm renting out my beautiful room in the heart of Rome as I'll be away for four months on a work-related academic exchange in China. It's a real opportunity to live in one of the most charming and well-connected areas of the city, at a much more affordable rate than what you would normally find here.

About the location:
The apartment is in the Porta Pia / Piazza Fiume neighborhood, just a 20-minute walk from Sapienza University's main campus. The area is elegant, safe and lively, with excellent public transport, plenty of cafés, restaurants, and green spaces (Villa Torlonia is just around the corner), as well as everything you need for daily life within a few minutes' walk. Virgin Active gym right next door: perfect if you want to keep up your workouts without losing time commuting.

About the apartment:
The flat is on the 4th floor, with lift. It is beautifully furnished, bright and welcoming, with all the comforts you would need to feel at home from day one:

I'm a university professor here in Rome. This autumn I'll be away on a research stay in China, from September to December 2026, and while I'm gone I'd love to hand my home over to someone who'll enjoy it and treat it with care. It's a comfortable, light-filled room in a part of the city I'm genuinely fond of (your neighbourhood), with great cafés, everyday shops, and easy transport all close by. The flat is quiet and well-kept, which makes it a lovely base if you work, teach, or study and value a calm place to come home to. Since this is my own home, finding the right person matters to me. How can I cancel my booking?

How you can cancel a booking varies depending on what stage the booking is in.

Is your booking request still waiting for host approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!

However, suppose the owner has already approved your booking request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the booking before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the host accepts your booking, the property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
